This item is a
beautiful 1930's Buff Surveying transit with case and tripod.
A lable in the case carries the 1930 date. The transit itself
is in excellent condition with its original light shade,
adjusting tool, mounting board with matching numbers, plumb
bob and a K & E magnifying glass. The adjustments for the
level bubbles etc are in near perfect order The box has been
used of course, with the leather carrying strap replaced by a
web canvas one. The case has its original key. The tripod has
seen heavy use, with bottom band on one of the legs broken,
but I used it like that for years. Look close at the photos.
The Buff cover for the mounting screw base is not included,
ie, it has been lost somewhere along the way. The buyer is to
pay for shipping by priority mail. For purposes of figuring
the shipping costs, the transit and box weighs 28 lbs and the
tripod weighs 12 lbs, the two packages are to be shipped from
