Description
This is one of the hard-to-find earlier editions of John Gummere's "A Treatise on Surveying Containing the Theory and Practice." The textbook was first published in 1814 and this, the 3rd edition, appeared in 1820. Gummere's Surveying was the best and most popular American textbook on surveying for almost a quarter century. To see a detailed review of Gummere's Surveying, visit The Compleat Surveyor website at http://www.uzes.net. This 3rd edition has 206 pages of text plus 152 pages of tables and 8 folding plates with 107 figures. The text is complete and in good condition except for moderate foxing. All plates are present. The leather cover is quite scuffed around the edges and there is cracking to the rear hinge and part of the front hinge. Some of the leather is chipped away from the front board. The binding is intact and this is a nice copy of one of the older editions. California residents add 7.25% sales tax. Personal checks are OK but shipping will be delayed until check clears. Search words: survey, surveying, surveyor, transit, level, compass, plumb, engineer.

If you're the seller or the high bidder - now what?

  1. Contact each other. The seller (howitzer) and the high bidder (gurley) should contact each other within three business days to discuss payment and shipping details.

  2. Leave feedback for the other party once the the seller has received the payment and the winning bidder has received the item.
Leave feedback to seller - Leave feedback to bidder.

Details for the seller and high bidder(s):
The seller should contact the winning bidder(s) with information on the total cost, including shipping, and where to send payment. The winning bidder(s) must pay the seller directly for the item(s), and it is the seller's responsibility to fulfill the order when payment terms are met. The binding contract of the auction is between the winning bidder and the seller.

If the seller is unable to establish contact with the high bidder within 3 business days, the seller may contact the next highest bidder. Therefore, if the high bidder does not contact the seller within 3 business days of the end of the auction, he/she may lose the place as winning bidder, and be at risk for receiving negative feedback and/or a Non-Paying Bidder warning, both of which can ultimately lead to suspension from eBay.
