YOU ARE BIDDING ON AN OLD TRANSIT IN EXCELLENT CONDITION BUT HEAVILY TARNISHED..IT HAS THE ORIGINAL TRIPOD WHICH IS A DARK MAHOGANY...ONE OF THE LEGS WERE BROKEN AND A METAL 1/2 INCH BY 4 INCH DOWEL PIN WAS INSERTED INTO IT AND IS STRONGER NOW THAT IT EVER WAS AND THEN WRAPPED AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICTURE...YOU CANT TELL IT WAS BROKEN...THE WRAP LOOKS VERY PROFESSIONAL...I HAVE THE COMPLETE TRIPOD WITH HARDWARE...THE GLASS ON THE TRANSIT LOOKS PERFECT...NO SCRATCHES..THIS TRANSIT WOULD BE THE PERFECT ONE TO POLISH UP..IT WOULD SHINE LIKE GOLD..I STARTED TO POLISH THE TRANSIT STARTING WITH THE EYEPIECE BUT I NEVER GOT TO FINISH IT..IT DOES HAVE A STAR LOGO ON THE TRANSIT...ALSO THERE IS ANOTHER LEVEL THAT I AM PUTTING IN WITH THIS DEAL...SEE PICTURE...I HAVE SEVERAL OTHER OLD BRASS PIECES ON EBAY NOW...BUYER PAYS FOR UPS SHIPPING SO MAKE SURE UPS WILL DELIVER TO THE CHOSEN ADRESS BECAUSE UPS DOES NOT DELIVER TO PO BOXES.. on the trasits lower unit that goes on to the tripod,is a little chain..this chain hangs between the tripods legs...im guessing that a pointed weight could hang there to locate the center of the tripod..so if a pointed weight is supposed to go there,i do not have it..in my ad i mentioned that the tripod is complete and it still might be complete,but if a weight goes with a tripod,,than this tripod is not complete..i question this because there is a chain there and i dont know anything on transits..
