Description

This is a very handsome and rare 18th century surveying book. Written in 1796 by John Love, it is titled Geodaesia or The Art of Surveying and Measuring Land. It is the earliest surveying book we’ve ever had.

Love’s book is about 200 pages long and is extensively illustrated. It does have some light foxing and it is missing the rear leather cover. Were it rebound, it would be a quite good copy of a very scarce surveying book. It usually isn’t terribly expensive to have a volume like this rebound, and we can arrange for that should the buyer want it.

This is a rare opportunity to own an exceptionally early illustrated surveying book. Thanks for your interest and bids.
