Description

This is a super catalog, published by W.& L.E. Gurley, Troy, N.Y., dated August, 1910. Its official cover name is "Gurley's Manual, American Engineers' and Surveyors' Instruments", Forty-Fifth Edition. Title page says: "A Manual Of The Principal Instruments Used In American Engineering and Surveying". Catalog measures 6 3/4 in. high by 5 in. wide, by 1 1/4 in. thick. It is in excellent about mint condition. Covers are fine with just a little surface wear at spine, and internal pages are in excellent mint condition with no rips or tears. There are 516 text pages, including a huge amount of lithographs of surveying and engineering equipment. I have included a large group of these in my pics. The first few pages have pictures of the Gurleys who are the owners of the company. Here are some equipment highlights from this catalog: Transit Instruments, (99 pages); Surveyor's Compasses, (31 pages); Smaller Field Instruments, (19 pages); Leveling Instruments, (43 pages); Plane Tables; Current Meters; Hand Levels; Tapes; Price List for the catalog; Drawing Instruments: Rulers, Slide Rules; Drawing Boards and Trestles; Water Colors, Compasses, Barometers, Field Glasses, Etc, Etc.
