Description
A very rare and absolutely complete 1830 circa surveyors vernier compass. It has sight vanes and a jacobs staff mount completely original,Gauranteed.A beautiful and very rare item.Opportunities like this do not come along often. The sight vanes and retaining screws are in the box. They are hard to see but are in great condition with no damage. If you would like to see a picture on request email me.The compass maker is James Pool Philedelphia. All vials are full and original and the vernier and needle turn freely. The box is beautifully dovetailed and I think its mahoghany. The brass retains most of its oeiginal laquer and the brass work is ornate. The compass face is also beautifully engraved.I apologize for the photos,I am new to digital photograhy.Item is gauranteed as described.Thank you
