This
very hard to find 8.5? x 11? book is the original with blue cloth cover with
gold lettering and clean text throughout. The spine, binding and pages are very
nice and tight. It is the first (not a
reprint) edition which had no dust jacket and was printed in very limited
numbers. Lots of great references for Lincoln history buffs or surveying
history buffs. This copy is in excellent condition with the original owner?s
California Licensed Land Surveyor stamp (Homer Hanlon Banks, Jr. ? No. 3279)
inside the blank covers, not affecting any text or illustrations. A. Lincoln
with Compass and Chain is a must have book for any collector or dealer of
antique surveying instruments, land surveyor, civil engineer, architect,
draftsman, Americana historian or Lincoln historian.
