Description
This is an 1825 copy of Flint's Survey officially titled A System of Geometry & Trigonometry together with a Treatise On Surveying; teaching various ways of taking the survey of a field; also to protact the same & find the area, Likewise, Rectangular Surveying or, an accurate method of calculating the area of any field arithmetically, without the necessity of plotting it. To the whole are added several mathematical tables necessary for solving questions in trigonometry & surveying; with a particular explanation of those tables & the manner of using them, compiled from various authors by Abel Flint, A.M., Fifth Edition, w/ important additions by George Gillet, surveyor general of the state of Connecticut, published by Oliver D. Cooke& Co., Hartford-1825. Name inscribed inside front cover: John W. Tyrone or Tryone, William & Mary College-1828. Volume is leatherbound, measures approx. 8"x5" & contains 137 pages. Cover is in poor condition with a lot of corner & edge wear, flaking, scratches & spotting, no musty smell, however. Inside pages are all intact with the exception of a back end paper, pages are still crisp, though slightly wrinkled with some light spotting. An interesting piece of the past, especially those interested in surveying & mathematics. High bidder to pay $2.50 s/h.
