Description

This is an incredible little book that is almost 200 years young. Not many of these books survived due to their use in the field.

Written by Robert Gibson, a teacher of mathematics, and Printed by Lewis Nichols in 1806, this practical surveying book contains "Every thing that is curious in that Art, is fully considered and explained" "particularly containing three new and concise methods for determing the areas of right-lined figures arthmetically, or by calculation, as well as the geometrical ones heretofore treated of." This is the Third New-York Edition and contains 13 copper plates

The cover of the book is in fair/poor condition with insect damage to the spine and cover, though the binding remains tight and intact, and wear on all edges. There is some damage to a small section of the bottom corner of the pages, possibly it was dropped. The inside cover has a 6/28/70 pencil mark enscribed and face page has 452 written in pencil. The inside pages are in good condition, soft to touch and flexable with yellow/brown age spottings. Thanks for looking and my especial thanks to those who bid.

High bidder pays for media rate shipping and insurance if desired. Our zip code is 19335 if you want to calculate a rate, we estimate about $4 for shipping.

The winning bidder(s) must pay the seller directly for the item(s), and it is the seller's responsibility to fulfill the order when payment terms are met. The binding contract of the auction is between the winning bidder and the seller.
