Description
This is for a W & L E Gurley Surveyors Compass with dovetailed box. It comes with the original paper work for payments dated 1901 & 1902 on Gurley letterhead. This is near mint and looks like it was never used. There is one issue, one of the bubble levels cracked and the fluid caused some oxidation just on the bubble holder around the bubble opening. The finish is super nice for being over 100 years old. The compass is in excellent condition with no problems and works properly. The box is also in excellent condition with just a few small dings along the edges. The leather strap is showing some dry rot. The compass is 12.5 long with a 5" compass dial and the box is 13.5".
