	Wonderful Surveyor's Compass by W.& L.E. Gurley (Troy NY) Cira 1880's. (The Gurley Brothers William & Lewis started the Company in 1852) I beleave this Compass is listed in the catalogue of the Charles E. Smart Collection of Antique Surveying Instruments. Questions please e-mail! It does not have the Staff that goes with it. Looks like all other parts are there and complete. Instrument has a nice patana to it, so does the box. Box looks to be orignal but hinges look replaced. One piece of wood thats holds a part is loose see photo. Box is not mint, it's seen better day's but still looks nice. However, Instrument is in wonderful condition and works. Instrument is approx; 16" Long Dial is approx: 6-1/2". Has original Sight Vanes and Cover. See photo's. Lucky buyer will e-mail address & I shall provide shipping costs. This item does have weight to it.. Note: There is some glare on the glass from my photo's!! Thank you.
