Here is a very interesting and early 'SURVEY COMPASS'. It is
signed by JAMES EUBANK - a maker that does not appear in either
Smart or the British Directory. 6 1/2 face; 15 1/2 inch length and 6
inch vanes. Without a reference on the maker, I would judge a date
of mid 1700's to 1780. Style and construction certainly are
pre-1800. Face is decorated with an 8 point star on the face (which
retains traces of silvering). Direction points also include SW, NE,
SE, and NW in addition to the usual North, South, etc. Built in
counter in good working order is operated by a knob under the
instrument. No case and the wood pedestal is not included. Nicely
decorated brass cover which fits perfectly and is undoubtedly
original to the compass. As-found, unpolished with the original dark
gold patina. --- Email questions --- 7 day no-fault return/refund
privilege --- Buyer pays $15 Priority Mail shpg (US) -
OVERSEAS/CANADA additional at cost--- Optional insurance extra. --
Thank you

If you're
the seller or the high bidder - now what?
Contact each other. The seller (stuatisl)
and the high bidder (dbeeksci)
should contact each other within three business days to discuss payment and
shipping details.
Details for the seller and high bidder(s): The seller should contact the
winning bidder(s) with information on the total cost, including shipping, and
where to send payment. The winning bidder(s) must pay the seller directly for
the item(s), and it is the seller's responsibility to fulfill the order when
payment terms are met. The binding contract of the auction is between the
winning bidder and the seller.
If the seller is unable to establish contact with the high bidder within 3
business days of the end of the auction, he/she may lose the place as winning
bidder, and be at risk for receiving negative feedback and/or a Non-Paying Bidder
warning, both of which can ultimately lead to suspension from eBay.
