Description
Wonderful & Original (never been polished) W & L.E. Gurley Brass Surveyors Compass in its original box with label! It appears to be in excellent condition, slightly dirty but no pitting or damage. It measures about 7 1/2" across, has 2 arms that pivot up each with a crosshair, has two levels on it, and comes with the tripod fitting and 2 other fittings. The box measures 8 3/4" x 7 1/4" x 3 1/4" and has the original label on the inside lid. Weight of item in box is about 6 lbs. Label reads " W & LE Gurleys Instrument Manufactory / Established 1845" and " W. & L.E. Gurley / manufacturers of / Civil Engineers and Surveyors' Instruments / Troy, NY USA.", and shows a picture of the factory with horse drawn vehicles in the street. Judging by the label, this must be middle to late 1800's. NO RESERVE AUCTION!! $15.00 SHIPPING.

There will be a flat charge listed above which includes packing, shipping, and insurance via UPS ground to any address in the Cont. USA. Multiple purchases will be combined and will drastically reduce shipping costs. If you require or desire USPS shipping there may be an additional charge for the trip to the post office. I accept the following charge cards: DISCOVER, VISA, MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS. ALL ITEMS ARE DESCRIBED AS ACCURATELY AS POSSIBLE. PLEASE EMAIL ANY QUESTIONS AS ALL SALES ARE FINAL. 5.7% Sales tax for all Arizona Buyers.

On Jul-22-01 at 13:04:29 PDT, seller added the following information:

PLEASE NOTE: The compass is working, and the upper and lower portions rotate, and it appears to be well cared for, and so probably is in good working condition. I am not an expert on these compasses, and so I can only tell you what I see, and I can't make any guarantees. PLEASE EMAIL ANY QUESTIONS. I WILL RESPOND RIGHT AWAY.
