HEE WE HAVE AN EARLY SURVEYING COMPASS, ANDREW MENEELY. THE COMPASS MEASURES 15 5/8 INCHES WIDE, 10 1/4 INCHES HIGH AND HAS A 6 3/4 INCH COMPASS. THIS HEAVY BRASS COMPASS IS IN VERY NICE SHAPE WITH ONLY SOME SLIGHT TARNISHING ON THE FACE. THERE ARE TWO LEVELS ON THE NORTH END THAT ARE IN WORKING ORDER. IT HAS A NICE OVERALL PATINA. I PURCHASED THIS COMPASS FROM A FAMILY IN BUFFALO, NY SEVERAL YEARS AGO, WHO TOLD ME IT HAD BELONGED TO THEIR GRANDFATHER WHO WAS A SURVEYOR WITH THE HOLLAND LAND COMPANY.
