Description |
This Surveyor's Transit is in very good condition. I have no knowledge of how it works. I showed it to some friends who are engineers and they say it is in excellent condition. I don't make any claim to its value in today's engineering world as a surveying instrument. The item was offered at a charity auction at the Museum in St. Michaels Maryland. I have no use for it and only bid on it to help the museum. I didn't stop bidding soon enough. The donator says a great-great relative used it. It appears to be very old. Engraved on the compass card are the words - E.J.SLOANE and CO., BALTIMORE No. 195. Included in the custom wooden carry case is an old hand tool for the instrument; the case has the original leather strap and buckle. I am new to ebay so if there is any information I have left out please email me the request and I will do my best to answer. The only acceptable payment for this item is a cashiers check, money order, or personal check. I have no way to take a credit card. (Personal checks take 10 working days to clear) Shipping cost will be actual cost plus insurance. At my expense, I will have it carefully packed by an expert in shipping. The winning bidder will receive an email as soon as the auction ends. The winner should respond within 3 days of winning notification.

If you're the seller or the high bidder - now what?
Details for the seller and high bidder(s):
The seller should contact the
winning bidder(s) with information on the total cost, including shipping, and
where to send payment. The winning bidder(s) must pay the seller directly for
the item(s), and it is the seller's responsibility to fulfill the order when
payment terms are met. The binding contract of the auction is between the
winning bidder and the seller.
If the seller is unable to establish contact with the high bidder within 3 business days of the end of the auction, he/she may lose the place as winning bidder, and be at risk for receiving negative feedback and/or a Non-Paying Bidder warning, both of which can ultimately lead to suspension from eBay.
