| Description |
A very uncommon early 19th century 4-vane surveying compass/circumferentor signed by engraved script on the silvered compass face, "Spencer & Compy London".
The compass with 4" needle in a highly engraved face, the skeletonized circle 10" in diameter with four dovetail-mounted sight vanes (two appear to be good early replacements) a revolving alidade with verniers at both ends, the original ball and socket mount, and the original tripod.
This is a very nice outfit, of a very uncommon form of instrument.
