Antique rare Canadian brass Theodolite
– Transit Surveying instrument. The compass face is
engraved - HEARN & HARRISON MONTREAL circa 1857. The
instrument exhibits a general dark patina. The top
sighting tube bubble level has no cracks and is in
perfect working order. The other level near the compass
is also in good condition. The COMPASS face is nicely
engraved and the COMPASS NEEDLE and LIFTER work fine.
The TELESCOPE TUBE is approximately 12 5/8 inches (32cm
long OPENED and 11 ¼ inches (28.6cm) CLOSED. The
over-all height is 12 ½ inches (31.8 cm)The COMPASS FACE
diameter is 4 ¼ inches (10.8cm). The two screw stops are
lacking there is no carry case and no tripod - just the
transit and the eyepiece cover is missing. The
Instrument needs a good cleaning and adjustment. We do
not guarantee the working order or completeness of its
parts. |
