Brass construction with exposed brass surfaces patinated to a nice light brown; black finished surfaces are in super condition with only slight wear showing on the edges of the vertical support members. 9 1/2 inch scope - optics are sharp edge to edge, upright image, with intact crosshairs in sharp focus; eyepiece has sliding shutter closure; 4 inch undermounted spirit level on scope; 2 - 2 3/4 inch spirit levels for plate leveling; 4 1/2 inch compass with operating needle and lifter, all in near mint condition; 2 verniers on the main plate with intact glass and sun shades on each; 3 spring-loaded tangent screws; mounted on a metal base plate that slides into the included case. Also included are the tools shown in the photo. Case is sturdy and functional with an intact, padded leather, strap handle, but is not pretty and shows its age. Hinges are replacements.
