Description
This is a KEUFFEL & ESSER Co. surveying transit. I am not sure as to the exact age of this tool. But I do know that I have owned it myself for the last 35 years. It seems to be in excellent condition compared to others that I have viewed on Ebay. I'm sure this is from the 1930 to 1940 era. I was talking with a specialist on surveying equipment and transits in general and he implied that it was of that age. He said that it is in useable condition and could be used daily as a surveying instrument not only as a collectable.

The wooded box is all complete and has the dove tailed joints with brass fixtures. It seems to be complete as far as the instrument goes other then the place where the plumb bob should be theres nothing in its place. The leather folded pouch inside the door that holds other pieces are all there except a round flat piece that isn't in its place.

I am showing as many photos as I can to give you an idea of the overall condition. The instrument itself I would classify as 98% there's no wear, cracks in glass, all the levels are functional

Shipping charges will be actual. Because I am not shure what the cost will be to ship. I would assume it would be under $29.00 including insurance. I will take personal checks, but do reserve the right to hold them until they clear. I am putting a reserve on this item but it will be lower than the specialist says it is worth.

HAPPY BIDDING... AND ALL BID ARE APPRECIATED

Details for the seller and high bidder(s):
The seller should contact the winning bidder(s) with information on the total cost, including shipping, and where to send payment. The winning bidder(s) must pay the seller directly for the item(s), and it is the seller's responsibility to fulfill the order when payment terms are met. The binding contract of the auction is between the winning bidder and the seller.

If the seller is unable to establish contact with the high bidder within 3 business days, the seller may contact the next highest bidder. Therefore, if the high bidder does not contact the seller within 3 business days of the end of the auction, he/she may lose the place as winning bidder, and be at risk for receiving negative feedback and/or a Non-Paying Bidder warning, both of which can ultimately lead to suspension from eBay.
