BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Ed and I are pleased to have been commissioned to sell the entire reference and personal library of our life-long friend Herschel Burt of the Burt Dial And Clock Co. of Exeter, NH. Mr. Burt recently passed away. Herschel served as Curator of the Simon Willard Museum as well. Many of you have emailed me asking how we happen to be selling this collection. To answer this question I will simply say, "this was Herschel's wish". He visited us just prior to his death and asked us to offer his extensive collection. We are honored to be able to carry out his wish. We also thank you for your interest, kind words, and participation. His collection consists of over 600 volumes. Many of the books are autographed by the author, and the categories will include clock and clock related, watches, scientific instruments, antiques, art, guns, first editions, sets, and a large selection of catalogs as well. Herschel enjoyed sharing his vast knowledge and often could be heard saying: "knowledge that is not shared is wasted".There is no list, so please bookmark our listing as items from this library will be added daily. ALL books will be offered on ebay, and there will be no "after auction" sales. The reference books in the collection range from modern to antique. SPECIAL NOTE: among the rarer items we will be listing is a double fore-edge painted book which occupied a place of distinction in this wonderful collection. Thank you for looking at our auctions.

If you're the seller or the high bidder - now what?
Details for the seller and high bidder(s):
The seller should contact the
winning bidder(s) with information on the total cost, including shipping, and
where to send payment. The winning bidder(s) must pay the seller directly for
the item(s), and it is the seller's responsibility to fulfill the order when
payment terms are met. The binding contract of the auction is between the
winning bidder and the seller.
If the seller is unable to establish contact with the high bidder within 3 business days of the end of the auction, he/she may lose the place as winning bidder, and be at risk for receiving negative feedback and/or a Non-Paying Bidder warning, both of which can ultimately lead to suspension from eBay.
