Description |
A. Tiensch, Memphis, TN , Vernier Survey Compass. Approx. 14 3/8" overall length. 5 1/2" compass face, 6 1/2" sight vanes. Uncleaned original patina. Dovetailed Walnut box with period repairs and old replaced leather strap. Label has seen better days but is mostly intact. States that Tiensch was constanly on hand to make to order transits, survey compass, levels, chains, drawing instruments, etc. Silvered compass dial appears to be engraved rather than machined, but I could be wrong. I am not familiar with this maker. Small flake to glass is not eveident in photos. One level vial is dry but glass unbroken. No ball and socket for jacobs staff. Feel free to ask questions. First time for me selling on ebay, have always been a buyer. I hate to sell this beauty but I am getting married and need to pay some bills. Buyer to pay shipping and insurance determined at end of auction. Personal checks may take up to 10 days to clear. No returns unless item has been grossly misrepresented ( which it hasn't ). Not responsible for buyers regret.
