Description
BUFF & BUFF ENGINEERS 18 INCH WYE LEVEL

This level is a very large and interesting example of a 1920s Buff & Buff wye level in nicely restored condition. Serial number 18751 is engraved on the mfg. brass plate on the main frame. The brass has been cleaned - not buffed - and the eyepiece, wyes, and base have been expertly painted. Nice and showy display piece. 8 inch undermounted scope level with 2 windows. Spring loaded tangent screw and brake operate properly as do the levelling screws. Optics are clear and sharp - focused with a top mounted rack and pinion gear. Wyes hold the scope securely and release easily. The bruise shown on the base plate has no effect on operation. Main frame appears to be in its original finish but with minor paint loss. Crosshairs are either missing or out of focus. Case is sturdy, has the mfg. label and a repair tag dated 1968, and has a dismounting tool and an adjustment tool. Carrying strap is a replacement; closure hooks work well. Overall, a very attractive and desireable piece!

MY TERMS: If I have left anything out or if you have any questions, please email me before bidding, allowing sufficient time for a reply. I will answer you if I can. Buyer pays shipping costs, insurance and the cost of professional packing if requested. I will make contact immediately after auction closes and expect an email confirmation within 24 hours - receipt of payment within 7 business days. M/O gets immediate shipment. Checks must clear unless I am satisfied with Buyers feedback. Auction may be cancelled if eBay malfunctions in last 2 hours of sale. Please do not bid unless you intend to complete the transaction on these terms. Please, no international sale except Canada - I’ve had too many problems elsewhere. GOOD LUCK BIDDING.

Details for the seller and high bidder(s):
The seller should contact the winning bidder(s) with information on the total cost, including shipping, and where to send payment. The winning bidder(s) must pay the seller directly for the item(s), and it is the seller's responsibility to fulfill the order when payment terms are met. The binding contract of the auction is between the winning bidder and the seller.
