This impressive brass surveying transit from the Buff + Buff Manufacturing Co. (Boston) numbered #18879 on both box and transit is in excellent shape. All glass is intact and lenses are clear- very clean! Knobs work smoothly and there is no green oxidation or rust. Owner took very good care of it. Box is rough on outside (locked with hook and eyes instead of key) but all there including metal lables and leather strap on outside and several paper lables on inside. One of these lables show the manufacturing plant in Jamaica Plains(see photo). Other lables are advertizements for the company and for repairs. Also included are the sun shade and piece of metal which may be an adjustment key. Compass is still acurate and all dials and indicators are excellent! Great piece for the tool enthusiast! Shipping and insurance charges to be determined at end of sale. Item will be shipped same day as arrival of money order.
