Vintage Brass Theodolite Cary London Transit
	This is a nice vintage brass theodolite. It is guaranteed to be original. It is a very well made instrument in a fitted hand dovetailed mahogony box. This was from the estate of a man who liked to collect fine instruments. The well made box appears to be at least 100 years old but the instrument is marked "Cary London 1975". We don't know if that is the date or a serial number. The previous owner described it this way "Signed Cary London Theodolite with a 13" Telescope, Silvered Vertical and Horizontal scales, Central and upper bubble in original wood box". The optics are good and clear. The theodolite is in very good condition with one very minor dent in the large telescope but it is only barely visible to the naked eye, but there are no other dents or dings or damage of any kind. The box is rated only in good condition because of 2 splits in the panels (the box is still very solid). A very beautiful instrument selling with a reserve to cover our initial cost.
