• Description - "The Makers of Surveying Instruments in America Since 1700" by Charles E. Smart, published in 1962 by Regal Art Press. This is the original first printing of Smart's famous book on American surveying instrument makers; the second volume was first published in 1967. With 182 pages and many black & white photos of instruments and trade labels. The reprint of this book is now almost as hard to find as this original first printing and, due to copyright problems with the family, it will probably never be reprinted again.
