Description
Gurley's Manual, American engineers and surveyors instruments a catalog of engineer and surveyor equipment and tools. The 33rd edition of 1899. This catalogues dimensions are 7x4.75 inches and the catalogs page length is 440. The binding, the text, the graphics, and the cover are complete and totally usuable. There is a slight scuff on the top center of the back cover that cannot be seen except when the catalogue is turned over. The remaining catalogue in all its written and graphic areas is in very nice condition. It is a great historical research and reference to Gurley surveying and engineering equipment and to the full line of this famous manufacturer of mathmatical instrumentation at this late victorian pre 1900 period of their history. Inside the text on the first page is given: A manual of the priincipal instrumenbts used in American Engineering and Surveying Manufactered by W. & L. E. Gurley, Troy, NY 1899. A full page picture of William and one of Lewis Gurley are given in the front of this piece along with a full page picture of their factory. In the back is a seven full page index to the products in this advertising piece. subjects found in the index are cases, compases, levels and transits, books, blowpipes, barometers, attachments, alt-Azimuth, compass types: - clinometer, dial, geologists, miners dip needle, plain, pocket, prismatic, railroad, solar, vernier; leveling insturments; plummet lamp, plummets, pedometers, ; transit types:- builders, engineers light mountain and mining, reconnoissance, solar, surveyors, vernier,; tripods, tables, rules , slide rules etc etc. I enjoy questions so please ask them before bidding. I prefer a money order or bank draft with same day shipment, but will accept a personal check with 10 days to clea US buyers, or Western Union funds for International buyers.
