Description
A really sharp old surveyors transit instrument. The label in the top of the box says 'W & L.E. Gurley's Manufactory Established 1845 Manufacters of Civil Engineers and Surveyors Instruments Troy, N.Y.'. The transit is beautiful piece. Solid brass with glass, no cracks or dings. The telescope is 11" across, 15" tall and 8" across, approximately at the widest point. The photos are poor and I have more if interested. Included is a dust cap and sun cover for the telescope, nice wooden box with strap and lock key, brass plumb with string, original wooden tripod. Complete as when used last to start the paving of asphalt streets in Topeka, KS. This all belongs to my widow mother-in-law. Her dad was the one that used the transit in Topeka. Priority shipping is $25.00 approx. insurance is based on the final selling price. Must be sent insured. Please make payment by check or money order or Paypal only. Payment is due within 10 days from the end of the auction or item may be sold to someone else or relisted. Email any questions or to view additional pictures. Thank you and happy bidding.

Details for the seller and high bidder(s):
The seller should contact the winning bidder(s) with information on the total cost, including shipping, and where to send payment. The winning bidder(s) must pay the seller directly for the item(s), and it is the seller's responsibility to fulfill the order when payment terms are met. The binding contract of the auction is between the winning bidder and the seller.

If the seller is unable to establish contact with the high bidder within 3 business days of the end of the auction, he/she may lose the place as winning bidder, and be at risk for receiving negative feedback and/or a Non-Paying Bidder warning, both of which can ultimately lead to suspension from eBay.
