This old transit is a beauty.It says Keuffel and Esser made in Germany on the face of the compass.Also has K & E Doric on the face.There are lots of levels and diffent gauges on this and are all functional on this precision piece.The telescope is quite strong and very clear. The brass accents on the transit really add to this transit.Comes with a solid brass plumb which is quite heavy. The box is solid Oak with dovetail on each end with brass hinges and brass lock and brass hooks.Comes with a solid oak tripod which says K & E on it and also says 3 1/2x8 on it.The transit unsrews from base and screws on to tripod for a serure reading.The tripod has a metal cap when transit is not in place.The tripod is solid oak with some reflecive orange tape on each leg.Has 3 metal spikes to stick into ground firmly.Comes with an oak measuring stick Which comes in three pieces and measure 12' when put together.It says chicago steel tape co. on the back and is in very good condition with all the numbers being easily readable.A set in such good shape like this does not come around every day and should not be overlooked.Don't miss the buson this one,happy bidding.Buyer to pay shipping and insurance,B.C. residents to pay pst and Canadians to pay gst.Please view our other auctions.
