Description

Buff & Buff Master Transit Level+Box+Tripod*C

I am very pleased to bring you my second Buff transit level auctions that is a wonderful antique brass Buff & Buff master transit level in its original box and the original oak tripod. This unit is almost all brass and in very good condition. It has a model number of 29134 and a patent date of 167437 which puts this at about 1928. The original wooden box has leather straps that have Buff punched on the left side and then the model number punched on the right side. In addition, it has all of its original labels on the inside showing how to send if it needed any repairs and the Buff Co label of Jamaia Plain Station in Boston Mass. This is really a very nice transit with compass in the middle of the bass and scope mounted on top with original brass cover and level under the scope. There is also instrumentation on each end of the compass that may be for longitude or latitude and some sort of degrees. All turn knobs turn with ease and all pieces have matching numbers. The tripod has a screw mount which matches the unit and it has a great pantina and works very well as far as packing up and setting up with ease. As you can see from the pictures the sides are painted green and you know that this is a very collectible and desirable antique instrument. Bid with confidence and please see my other Buff transit that came from the same surveyor and if you want get both and keep the pair together!! Bid with confidence on this nice piece! Please make sure that you see my other auctions as I have many quality items such as Oak mission library table, deco lighting, 50's silver Christmas tree, Rare Cordley & Hayes stoneware office water cooler, Guardian aluminum cookware, prints, and so so much more!!! Please take a minute to bookmark this site and you will see more great-stuff!!!

Please make sure to look at my other auctions as I have many items from many estates that are super and you would really enjoy looking at them. I have many quality items on at this time and I invite you to view them. Take just a moment to look at these offerings, and you will see why more and more people are saying, "You have Great-Stuff!"
