Alidade transit(?) made by W & LE Gurley Troy NY. Transit is mounted on a 18" X 3" flat plate base with a small round level vial on it. Transit scope is 12" long and has two eye lens, one used for angle viewing and one for straight through viewing. Optics are clear and cross hairs are sharp. There is a large 4" level vial that attaches on the top of the scope using a quick release mount. Transit comes with the original dove tailed wood box, but the key is missing for the lock. The box has a W & LE Gurley trade card inside the cover and another card saying "In making Stadia. measurements with this instrument, remember that the zero of the indicated distance is 1.31 feet in front of this instrument W & LE Gurley". Transit comes with all of the items in the photo, two eye lens, quick mount level vial, wood box, lens cap, sun shade, and screw driver. Transit is in very good condition and retains almost all of the original factory finish.
