THIS IS AN AWESOME PIECE. IT WEIGHS 17LBS. AND SEEMS TO BE MADE OF SOLID BRASS. I WISH MY PICTURES WERE BETTER, THEY DONT DO THIS PIECE JUSTICE. THE CROSSWORK YOU SEE IN THE DIAL IS A REFLECTION OF LATTICE WORK. THIS INSTRUMENT IS 18" TALL AND 7-1/2" ACROSS AT ITS WIDEST. THERE IS SOME SLIGHT WEAR FROM USE, BUT IT SEEMS TO BE IN FINE WORKING ORDER. ON THE DIAL BETWEEN NE AND NW IS HETLER & BRIGHTLEY AND BETWEEN SE & SW IS MAKERS 6514 PHITADA. I CAN'T SEEM TO GET IT TOO FIT INTO THE BOX. MY KNOWLEDGE OF THESE INSTRUMENT IS VERY LIMITED AND IT SEEMS THAT EITHER IT HAS TO BE TAKEN APART TO FIT IN THE BOX, OR IT DOESN'T GO IN THE BOX AT ALL. THE BOX WAS IN THE SAME CRATE AS THE INSTRUMENT SO I ASSUME IT GOES WITH IT. THE BOX IS SOLID WOOD. THE STRAP THAT GOES ACROSS THE TOP IS BROKEN AND THERE ARE A COUPLE OF WOOD BRACES THAT HAVE FALLEN OFF, BUT ARE IN THE THERE AND JUST NEED SOMEONE WHO KNOW HOW TO REATTATCH THEM. THE BOX IS 12" X 10" X 7". IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE E-MAIL AND I WILL DO MY BEST. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE WHAT THIS ITEM WOULD LOOK LIKE REDONE, I FOUND ONE ALMOST IDENTICAL ON EbAY, CHECK IT OUT @ # 454444357. I ADDED ALOT OF PICTURES SO PLEASE BE PATIENT. THE SHIPPING WILL BE $25.00 UPS, THAT INCLUDES INSURANCE, AND I AM SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING SENDING THEM IN 2 PACKAGES, I THINK THE INSTRUMENT COULD DO SOME DAMAGE TO THE BOX WHILE ON ITS WAY. I DONT SHIP INTERNATIONALLY.
