Description

Keuffel & Esser, New York ~ Model 5077

This is an early Keuffel & Esser Engineer's Light Mountain Transit with Vertical Circle dating to the early 1900's.

It is K&E Model #5077A, Serial # 29351. This model features an 8 1/2 inch telescope with stadia hairs, 2 ivory hinged reflectors, a 4 inch diameter circle graduated on solid silver to half degrees. Double Direct Vernier reading to one minute. The compass measures 4 inches in diameter and is in working order - still pointing North after all these years!

The instrument measures 11 inches high and has the "Morocco Finish" typical of the time.

This piece comes with it's original dovetailed wooden case. The less said about it, the better, however it does have a lovely K&E Lable as shown above. But seriously, one hinge is detached, the leather strap is broken and the exterior is battered and worn. With some TLC, new side panels, top, bottom, back and a door... it would be just like new!

Shipping from Canada will be about $25.00, please email any questions to
Casshew@aol.com

Thanks for Looking!

Details for the seller and high bidder(s):
The seller should contact the winning bidder(s) with information on the total cost, including shipping, and where to send payment. The winning bidder(s) must pay the seller directly for the item(s), and it is the seller's responsibility to fulfill the order when payment terms are met. The binding contract of the auction is between the winning bidder and the seller.

If the seller is unable to establish contact with the high bidder within 3 business days of the end of the auction, he/she may lose the place as winning bidder, and be at risk for receiving negative feedback and/or a Non-Paying Bidder warning, both of which can ultimately lead to suspension from eBay.
