Rare Nairne Miniature Theodolite. A rare small size theodolite in excellent condition. horizontal limb with silver scale, compass signed Nairne St James street London. Fine scale around compass. silvered dial in good condition with some silver loss. Vertical quadrant with silver scale. Excellent optics. Spirits active. four leveling screws, there is some nicks on bottom feet plate vertical tube and on horizontal turning knob. Scope length retracted 8 ¾”, horizontal limb 4 ¼” dia. compass face 3” dia. overall height 8”, leveling base 3” dia. no case tripod or accessories. I have been commissioned to offer exclusively on ebay a collection of steam, electrical, scientific, instrumentation and related technology items from a fifty year life long collection. These items have never been offered for sale and are fresh from the estate. The proceeds will directly benefit the library and educational programs of the Owls Head Transportation Museum, Owls Head Maine.
