I am sorry to say I don't know too much about this item but will try to describe it as best as I can and hopefully the pictures will help you. The box measures 6 1/2 X 13 3/4 X 4 1/4 (dovetailed). The instrument I believe to be brass. The top unscrews and there is a compass underneath. There are also 2 levels. I recently purchased this from an old farmhouse along with other instruments that have sold well on ebay. This is the last one I have. Far as I can tell there is no damage (some scuffing to the metal). No reserve.
