Description

1896 Rare Antique Engineering Surveyors' Handbook/Catalogue

You are bidding on an extremely rare antique 1896 engineering surveyors' handbook titled Hand-book and Illustrated Catalogue of the Engineers' and Surveyors' Instruments by Buff & Berger (No. 9 Province Court, : : : Boston, Mass).  This book was printed in 1896 from the press of Carl H. Heintzemann (Boston, Mass).  The book has a cover price of 60 cents.

This book is one of the most interesting books I have ever come across.  I am very reluctant to even let it go.  This hand-book/catalogue was put out by Buff & Berger Company from Boston Mass.  It is broken up into two parts.

Part I details the engineering and surveying equipment that they produced in 1896 (the company's 25th year from establishment).  The book describes each piece of equipment, how to use/maintain it, and gives example calculations that are to be used with collected data (along with lots of great pictures).

Part II is an illustrated catalogue and price list of all the equipment sold by this company.

The pictures in this book are awesome!  The back cover even has a hand-drawn picture of their building in Boston which has a sign on it reading "Old Providence Residence Of Royal Governors."   I tried to include as many pictures as I could of this book to try to do it some type of justice (so sorry about the long download time :-)  ).

The book is in great condition!  Most of the 150 pages are in excellent shape.  It is truly a collectors item.  The winner of this book is going to have a keepsake for sure!

Will ship in United States.  Buyer is responsible for actual shipping cost.  I accept Paypal, money orders, and cashier checks.  (Sorry - no personal checks.)  Payment must be received within 7 business days from close of action or item will be re-listed.  I will leave feedback.

Shipping Cost: $3.20
