Description
This antique Surveying Transit was made by the A. Lietz Co., San Francisco. This transit comes with its original wooden carrying case + tripod. The transit is labeled, "The A. Lietz Co., San Francisco, USA #7026". The sighting mechanism seems to work fine, the bubbles in all three levels are good, the compass seems to work fine, and all of the adjusting screws are free moving and in good working order. The only flaw I could find is one small crack on one of the glass cover plates (the one that covers the degree reading). Please view photos and email with any questions. Overall this vintage transit is in very good condition, considering its age. The only date I could find is on a white A Lietz label on the inside of the box which reads June 1936. Also on the label are the words A Lietz Co, est. 1882, Manufacturers of Engineering, Surveying, Mining, and Nautical Instruments. Main office and factory, 632 Commercial Street, San Francisco. This scientific instrument is a must for a optical or surveying collector. The tripod is in very good working condition, with the locking mechanism free moving. Buyer pays shipping. Money order or cashiers check will ship immediatley. Your personal check is welcome, but I must hold merchandise until check clears. Thank you and Good Luck!!

Details for the seller and high bidder(s):
The seller should contact the winning bidder(s) with information on the total cost, including shipping, and where to send payment. The winning bidder(s) must pay the seller directly for the item(s), and it is the seller's responsibility to fulfill the order when payment terms are met. The binding contract of the auction is between the winning bidder and the seller.

If the seller is unable to establish contact with the high bidder within 3 business days of the end of the auction, he/she may lose the place as winning bidder, and be at risk for receiving negative feedback and/or a Non-Paying Bidder warning, both of which can ultimately lead to suspension from eBay.
