To really appreciate this quality and beauty of this instrument please take a good look at the 360 Degree Spinner View (linked above and below).

I have a PDF of the original purchase order. Berger made this transit for McKinney BluePrint Paper Co in downtown L.A in 1924. Looks like the transit sat there unused most of the time. I suspect McKinney was trying to branch out, and maybe go into surveying equipment sales and rentals. I gather that didn’t work to well given the condition of this instrument. Very Lightly Used.

The instrument has a few flaws - some cracked plastic on both the lens and eyepiece, but nothing too bad. And one cross hair looks like its broken.

This Berger Transit carries serial number 14754.
