This a a really nice full-size (14.75 inch) Plain Compass.
The compass has nice original patina, the level vials are full of liquids, and the adapter works. Only the compass cover is missing.
My favorite thing about his compass - the included labels. First, is the Chas Hutchinson label in the box lid. The label is in fantastic condition. I believe that Hutchinson was a retailer, and he likely sold this instrument. You can see faint traces of the Charles Gedney King Label that Hutchinson removed and then put his label over where the King label had been.
The second label is special though - it's a C. G. King label that was in the box. The label is in near mint condition. I believe the label is genuine - not a later reprint. The graphics are very crisp, and the paper is very thin - like old time paper.
This compass would look great on display, especially with the two fantastic labels that come with the compass.
