Huge Circa 1870 Vernier Compass - Benjamin Pike's Son

This is a Monster Pike Compass. A full 16 inches. 9.6 pounds, including the compass face cover. Weighs 8.9 pounds without the cover. Sight vanes are over 8 inches tall. Needle is 6 inches long. Missing adapter, but the Box is in decent condition. Really nice patina with extra large numbers and letters Both vials have liquid I see nothing wrong with this wonderful compass. Needle lifter works, although may not press to the glass The cover for the compass face comes apart. The rim separates from the disc. I love this compass. It looks and feels HEAVY. The surveyor who carried this compass around was not a small man. This compass will display very nicely - it's bulk is impressive.
