Really Nice Queen Transit - Circa 1905

This is very nice transit made by Queen. The transit looks to have been restored or freshened up - it would look great on display. Please look at the 360 degree Spinner View of the transit - this will show you how nice the transit would look on display.

The transit is a pretty standard size - the telescope is 11 inches long and the needle is 4.5 inches. The vials have liquid. The vernier reads to 1 minute. The crosshairs and stadia wires are present, and the optics are clear.

I believe this to be circa 1905 based on the serial number of 8105.

The transit comes with everything you see in the pictures, including what looks like it's original box.

In terms of flaws - the slow motion apparatus seemed to be a little loose, so I tightened it and it works better. There still seems like there is some tightness when using the apparatus outside of the middle area of the adjustment. There is also a very slight binding in the plates when I rotate the instrument horizontally.

Please see my
Queen Makers Webpage for more info about this surveying instrument maker.
