This is an AMAZING miniature K&E transit. The silly small size and the twisted frames make this K&E a real winner. When displaying instruments in public, NOTHING grabs the eye like a miniature transit.

This little guy comes with its original box (that still has a working key - a real plus) and a few accessories shown in the pics below.

Everything seems to work here. The optics are nice (inverted), the the crosshair and stadia hairs are present.

A super nice K&E Expedition Transit sold on eBay for $2900 in December 2018. K&E Expedition transits are quite uncommon. I could only find 3 other examples searching thru the internet and my old computer files. Two of the four were Expedition - solar compasses. The only non-solar Expedition transit I found was the eBay one sold in 2018. Note - the eBay transit had a longer telescope. A surveyor could order a non-inverting telescope as an option, but the telescope came with an 8 inc telescope. The inverting telescope was only 6 inches. The transit offered here has the smaller inverting telescope.

This K&E Expedition was made around 1909 - the serial number is 20571 and my K&E dating guide says that number falls within 1909.
